Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also the former BJP state president in Tripura Tuesday targeted the opposition political parties and said that 23 months of the BJP-IPFT government has succeeded in giving 99 percent democracy to the oppositions. He said, "This called democracy when the oppositions have got their every democratic right to hold their organizational meeting and rallies across the state."
"Earlier the so-called democracy of the oppositions were restricted to the party offices only, which was unable to be unveiled by the law and judiciary system of the state," adding to this Mr. Deb said, "This is the real example of democracy when every opposition political parties are provided with permission to stage their meetings and rallies across the state."
Addressing the gathering of students and other walks of life during the Tripura statehood celebration here at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan on Tuesday, Mr. Deb said, "We are committed to build Tripura into a model state where one need not have to move to other major cities of this country." He said, "I hope by next 2023, Tripura shall look like any other major cities in this country to bring fulfillment to one's life and the state as a whole."
Meantime, recounting the achievements of 23 months of the BJP-IPFT government in Tripura Mr. Deb said, "Tripura secured 100 percent success in fulfilling the needs of the common people of this state in the field of e-PDS system connecting habitations with power services and tackling diseases like Malaria."
In his second Statehood Day speech, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb Tuesday vouched to fulfill the needs of the common man stating the state came into being 48 years ago, however, it failed to fulfill its goals. “We are trying to become an economically self-reliant state”, he said.
