BJP demands arrest of former minister Bhanulal Saha over recovery of illicit drugs

Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded the police to arrest the former finance minister Bhanulal Saha and other communist leaders who were engaged in the illicit drug business. The demand has come up after illicit drugs recovered from the Bishalgarh CPIM party office on Wednesday night.

Just after the recovery of illicit drugs from the procession of the Bishalgarh CPIM party office, the Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Ratan Chakroborty on Thursday evening demanded the police to arrest the former finance minister Bhanulal Saha and other local communist party leaders for their involvement in the illicit drug business at Bishalgarh.

Chakraborty also informed that the BJP shall move for a protest rally on Friday against the recovery of illicit drugs and cutting weapons from the communist party office.

Chakraborty further appealed the newly formed BJP-IPFT government to conduct raid in rest of the communist party offices reported to have illicit drugs and unwanted weapons within its pocession.

BJP legislator Ratan Chakraborty was addressing a press conference on Thursday evening at the party headquarter at Agartala. Chakroborty later in the press conference also blamed the previous government of encouraging illicit drug business in the state and praised the newly formed BJP-IPFT government for taking an initiative to make this state drug free.

PM Modi holds roadshow in Bhubaneswar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a four km-long roadshow from the BJP's state office here to the Vani Vihar Square area in the city. PM Modi arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here at 8.20 p.m. He later went to the party's state office at Kharvela Nagar.
