After PM Modi's assurance of 7th pay commission in Tripura, CPI-M asks 'why not in other states?'

AGARTALA:

The CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar on Saturday concerning over the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurance of implementing 7th central pay commission to the state’s government employees question, “So far the BJP-ruled states are deprived of the 7th pay commission.”

Setting example to the fact that hovers around, Bijan said, “The government employees in Manipur are deprived of the latest pay commission of the centre.”

“Cease work strike from February 27 shall be carried out by the Manipur government in demand of the 7th pay commission,” adding Dhar said, “BJP promised to deliver seventh pay commission during the election but failed to do.”

Dhar alleged, “The BJP is simply trying to put cap on people’s head here in Tripura.” he said, “Despite the fact that no BJP-ruled states have come under the 7th pay commission so far, it is fooling the people of this state in the name of latest pay commission.”

“The Left front government has been persuading for the 7th pay commission for long, but the centre remained back-track of increasing its budgetary allocation for the state’s fund.”

The CPM released a copy of a January 5 letter sent by the president of Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF), M Rajendra Singh, to Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh.

In his letter, the MGSF president has said government servants in Manipur will launch a "cease work strike" from February 27 unless the government issues relevant orders for the implementation of the seven pay commission scales to government servants.
