The state Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma today said, "The ADCs must become a vibrant institution for over all development of the indigenous people of this state." He said, "The ADCs are to be strengthened further so as to promote the tribal heritage of this state." The Dy. CM was addressing the tribals here at Agartala Dasharath Deb auditorium on the occasion of World Indigenous Day.
He said, "Despite having difference between the allies’ partners, the BJP-IPFT government has demanded the centre to put Kok-Borok language in the 8th schedule of the constitution."
"The tribal heritage must be protected and developed and one way to do that is to strengthen the ADC," adding to this Mr. Dev Verma said, "Our government is also contemplating to upgrade the socio economic culture of the indigenous people of this state."
