Youth Congress, NSUI deputation to School Education

AGARTALA:

Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress and their students wing—NSUI, today gave a deputation to the school education directorate agitating against serving pork to the Muslim students during a government programme.

It is an example of sheer negligence which has hurt the religious sentiments. Notably, during a state level programme organised to mark “Kokborok day” students of Muslim communities were served with meal packages that included pork. This stance received serious criticism from the political rivals as well as intellectuals of the religion.

Briefing the media persons today, Pujan Biswas, general secretary of youth congress said, there are students of different religious back grounds and such stance some way or the other bears a message that the government has less compassion towards minorities. “These activities of the government triggers communal conflict, such as NRC and Citizenship Bill. So, it needs greater attention of the government” he said. NSUI state president Rakesh Das also accompanied him with the other followers.
