The journey of Tripura Under 19 team ended today in the ongoing Vinoo Mankad under 19 cricket tournament. In their fifth match at TATA Digwadih Stadium in Dhanbad Jharkhand defeated Tripura by a huge margin of 10 wickets. Due to failure of the batsmen Tripura lost the match today and with this also ended their journey in the tournament. Tripura won three matches from the five they have played in the tournament.
Batting first Tripura bundled out for a mere 121 runs which has been chased easily by Jharkhand without losing any wickets. Anukul Roy was the star with the match for Jharkhand as he picked up 4 wickets for just 9 runs. Only 4 batsmen in the Tripura team crossed the double digit score as at one stage the score was 93/3 and then Tripura faced a batting collapsed and lost their last 7 wickets for just 28 runs which led them to the loss.
In the morning Tripura won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers Sankar Paul and Bikram Das gave the team a flying start as the duo added 52 runs from 7.4 overs. Sankar Paul went out after scoring 23 from 21 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Batting at number 3 Dipayan Debbarma went in the same over without troubling the scorers. Bikram Das also went out soon after scoring 34 from 36 balls with 4 boundaries and 1 six and the score was 68/3.
Chandan Roy made 23 and after that wickets fall in regular intervals as Tripura bundled out for a mere 121 runs. Anukul Roy of Jharkhand picked up 4 wickets while Vivek Anand Tiwari picked up 2 wickets. In reply Jharkhand faced no problems at all and achieved the target in just 25.2 overs without losing any wicket. Aryaman Sen remained unbeaten on 62 while V Vishal remained unbeaten on 51. Jharkhand won the match by 10 wickets.
