Third division league football: Saroj Sangha gets walkover

AGARTALA:

Saroj Sangha remained in the contest to make a place in the final as they will take on Qualifier 2 against Sobuj Sangha on July 10 in the ongoing Third division league football tournament organized by Tripura Football association. The match will be held at Swami Vivekananda stadium.

Super stage of the tournament started from today as Saroj Sangha was scheduled to play in the eliminator of the tournament against Amra Kajana at Vivekananda stadium. Saroj Sangha players remained present in the match on time but due to an accident Amra Kajana failed to arrive at the ground.

As per the news Amra Kajana team along with Coach Haripurna Jamatia left from Mungiabari on time but at the highway a huge tree broke down and all the vehicles have been stopped to go either part of the road.

After hearing this incident all the referees along with the opposition players showed sportsmen spirit and waited for them but after 35 minutes of the original time of play Saroj Sangha management discussed with the matter as they also raised some valid points which can be happen in the match.

They said that being a knockout game the match could go to the tie breaker and it will be difficult to play in the evening. At the venue Amra Kajana Chief Sanjib Roy also remained present from the beginning and looked very much tensed in that period of time as this sudden accident ruined all the hard works.

In the end Dipankar Das, Joint Secretary of Tripura football association met with both the teams head and with the joint decision from both the members they have decided for walkover to the opposition. Then referee Biswajit Das announced the walkover news to the Saroj Sangha captain.
