The long-awaited Tennis Coaching Program, under the banner of Tripura Tennis Association at the State Tennis Complex, Malancha Niwas, is in its final preparatory stage, before it is rolled out for the children of the state who are keen on playing the sport at both recreational as well as the professional level.
Screening and assessment of the interested candidates have already begun since yesterday, and will continue till tomorrow. The technical proceedings are been supervised by renowned coach from Bengal, Debapriyo Das, alias Rishi who has the experience of working with professional players from all over the country since over 15 years.
Rishi, who runs one of the oldest residential academies in Kolkata and having the credential of grooming the Bengal's Men's team over the past few years will be instrumental in giving TTA's Coaching Program a professional look. President of Tripura Tennis Association, Arun Bhowmik was present at the State Tennis Complex today, while the screening was in process.
He was very happy to see the children attending the session and interacted with both the kids as well as their parents, thereby delivering some words of encouragement. Sujit Roy, Secretary, Tripura Tennis Association was also present at the gathering along with both the joint secretaries, namely Arup Saha and Tarit Roy.
The Tennis Coaching Program will be spread over the entire week with sessions at both morning as well as afternoon hours. On a regular basis, the program will be looked after by a certified coach from All India Tennis Association. The process of screening will begin at 7 am tomorrow, under the guidance of Shri Rishi.
