Rtd. Home Guards demand to pay 3 months pending pension

AGARTALA:

The retired Home Guard pensioners are suffering from acute financial crisis as they are not getting pension during last three months. Meanwhile they met with Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on December 3 seeking to resolve the issue of pending pension.

Deputy CM also assured to look into the matter. But the pensioners have not received any information regarding payment of their pending pension till today.

Meanwhile one delegate of the pensioners said that more than 550 pensioners are passing their daily life in hand to mouth condition with their family members.

He said, after lot of struggle Left Front introduced pension at Rs. 750 per month since 2012. But they have not received any opportunity to increase the amount in spite several facilities introduced by the government for benefit of employees. Besides, they have not received pension from October to December.

Meanwhile 21 pensioners died since 2012. Their family members also suffering from miserable condition as there is no facility of family pension. Even the family members hardly can arrange fund for cremation of pensioner home guard staff after death.

In such a situation the pensioners requested to the State Government to pay their pending pension immediately.
