After being screwed by media and social media platforms due to the inactive operation of Tripura police ahead of the sensational theft in Laxminarayan Bari temple and few other reported incidents having due similarities, city police has tightened the seat belts to drive out all falsified attempts to malign the law and order in the city and it’s peripheries.
According to the reports of few highly placed sources of the police department, a major operation to combat with the constantly decaying law and order situation or in other words the increasing reports of theft and other anti social activities being conducted forging a special team. The team on Saturday conducted numerous raids in various areas of the state following the history sheeter list and arrested five high-flying faces seizing a huge cash and gold ornaments from their possession.
SDPO Suman Majumder, while speaking to the correspondent informed that altogether 5 people were confined during the operation. In the wee hours of the day, SDPO Sadar and team detained Krishna Das from Ramthakur Sangha area with a wide seizure of 12.5 gram gold and Rs. 2,23,000 cash in his possession. Later on, the team arrested Rajib Miah from Charipara and Jakir Miah from Bisrmaganj, few equipments used to break treasure and locks along with 2 Bhoris (primitive unit used for metals like gold and silver) of gold.
On the other hand, Sah Aalam another accused in a daylight robbery conducted at Pratapgarh, was arrested from Chakmaghat by SDPO Dhruba Nath and team. The ‘safe’ which was robbed from the shop was also recovered from his house. Meanwhile, in the very evening a similar accused was arrested, who is named as Ashim Das in the police diary from Sidhai.
However, the total seizure which was recorded today through this special drive is informed as 2,57,000 in liquid cash, Gold ornaments of near about 6 Bhoris and Silver ornaments of 2 Bhoris. While asked about the linkage of this operation with the stealing of ornaments from Laxminarayan Bari temple, police officials however sustained there assurance over the case that a breakthrough might have appear with this intensified drive throughout the state.
Our Sonamura correspondent adds, police officials of Kalamchara station on Saturday confiscated three motor cycles from an isolated region of Rahimpur, Boxanagar. According to the reports placed by police after their successful raid it is learnt that the bikes were smuggled here through a falsified chain of burglars who usually sell them out in the neighboring country after conducing theft. However, soon the bikes will be returned to their owners after the initial documentation. Examining the number plates of the motor cycles the fact enlightened that all the bikes were brought there from Agartala or the city suburbs area.
In the meantime, police has also accelerated its cyber cell to tap down the increments recorded in social media policing on various issues and rumour mongering. As far as the sources in the concerned in the city police branch, altogether three cases under section 153A/ 505/120B IPC were registered and soon the persons concealed under the fake social media profiles will be held and grilled regarding their inclusive misuse of social media.
Notably, all the police activities were nearly appreciated by everyone. Most of the city dwellers who were convened for a reaction upon this matter expressed their goodwill for the police department and demanded for a transparent and unbiased policing agency unlike the Left regime.
