Allegation raised against TSECL by the customers on failing to change the LED bulbs and tubes which went out of order before expiry of warranty period.
Sources said that TSECL sold LED bulbs (with 3 years warranty), tube lights (with 3 years warranty) and fan (with 2.5 years warranty) to customers at cheap rate through ITECH MASS agency under Ujjala Scheme. The items were sold from Power department all over the state through authorized agency ITECH MASS in January and February this year. LED bulb sold at Rs. 70, Tube at Rs. 230 and Ceiling fan at Rs.1150 in subsidized rate.
After selling the items in large number the representatives of the agency abolished from the counters of Power department from March this year. Although, the representatives are available till now at premises of some offices.
Meanwhile most of the bulbs and tubes went out of order. But the customers failed to get the representatives of the agency at most of the departments.
TSECL authority stated that the responsibility of selling bulbs and tubes was given to an agency. But they are not coming now. As a result the department failed to change the bulbs and tubes which went out of order before warranty period. It is nothing but cheating customers, they alleged. Although, TSECL authority of Bidyut Bhavan in Agartala has not taken any action against the cheater agency. Meanwhile the customers of Udaipur demanded intervention of Power minister.
