KSCA Invitation Cricket: Himachal defeats Tripura

AGARTALA:

A fighting captain’s knock by Manisankar Murasingh went in vain as today Himachal Pradesh cricket association defeated Tripura by 9 wickets in the ongoing KSCA invitation cricket tournament. At Alur cricket field today chasing a mere 37 runs to win Himachal achieved the target losing just a wicket.

Tripura scored 364 in their first innings while in their first innings Himachal declared on a huge score of 603/7. In their second innings Tripura bundled out for 275 runs and thus Himachal got a target of 37 runs. Captain Manisankar Murasingh scored a vital 92 runs but failed to save his team from defeat.

Tripura started day 4 today on their overnight score of 24/0 but all of their top order batsmen went out after good start. Bishal Ghosh (30), Udiyan Basu (38), Smit Patel (41), Kaushal Acharjee (21) and Yashpal Singh (22) went out after good start. Manisankar missed a well deserved hundred and went out on 92.

In the end the whole team bundled out for 275 runs. Among the Himachal bowlers Akash Basisth picked up 7 wickets for just 99 runs. Chasing an easy target of 37 runs Himachal achieved the target in just 6.4 overs losing 1 wicket. Tripura will play their second match from July 28 against Assam.
