JC Memorial League Cricket: JCC lifts back to back title

JCC won their back to back title in the ongoing cricket season as after winning T20 cricket tournament, today they lifted the ongoing JC memorial league cricket tournament organized by Tripura Cricket association. Their last match with Sphulinga today ended up in a draw and with 9 points from 3 matches JCC lifted the title with ease.

In all the three matches JCC displayed some outstanding cricket both with the bat and bowl and as a result of this they won this title. Though they won the title today but there was a period where Sphulinga was at the top in the match with some good bowling performance today but the lower middle order of JCC saved them with fine performances.

Yesterday of day one JCC made 167 runs and in reply Sphulinga today ended their first innings on 110. Taking a lead of 57 JCC started their second innings but lost 6 wickets for just 65 runs. From that point crucial half centuries each by Kaushal Acharjee and Amaresh Das and a healthy knock by Sujit Deb saved them as they score a healthy 256 in their second innings.

Sphulinga started their second innings with the target of 314 from minimum 27 over and ended on the score of 110 for the loss of 5 wickets. After picking up 4 wickets in the first innings Joydeep Bhattacharjee shined in the second innings too and picked up 3 wickets. With this the match ended up in a draw and crucial three points has been achieved by JCC.

Resuming their overnight score of 109/9, in the morning Sphulinga added just 1 run and bundled out for 110. In their second innings JCC made 256 from 630 overs. Among the batsmen Amaresh Das remained unbeaten on 63 from 68 balls with 10 fours, Kaushal Acharjee made 61 from 63 balls with 8 fours and 1 six while Sujit Deb (38) and Udiyan Bose (36) contributed well.

Among the Sphulinga bowlers Abhijit Dey picked up 4 wickets. Chasing 314 runs to win, Sphulinga made 110 for the loss of 5 wickets. Among the batsmen Debnarayan Kumar made 45 while Subham Ghosh made 33. Joydeep Bhattacharjee of JCC picked up 3 wickets. The match ended in a draw and JCC got three points while Sphulinga got one point. JCC won the title being at the top position.
