JC Memorial League Cricket: JCC is cursing well to grab back to back title

JCC is playing some good cricket for the last couple of days and as a result they reached very much close to win the ongoing JC memorial league cricket tournament organized by Tripura Cricket association. In their last encounter today JCC remained at the driver’s seat against Sphulinga club at the end of day one. Batting first JCC made 167 runs while in reply Sphulinga finished day one on the score of 109 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

JCC took a lead of 58 runs on day one and on the last day tomorrow they will go for straight forward win and that will take them to the title without any doubt. Nabajyoti Debnath who scored 62 and Joydeep Bhattacharjee who picked up 4 wickets took JCC to the driver’s seat in the match so far. This win will mean a lot for this team as they played some good cricket. Notably JCC also lifted the recently concluded T20 league cricket tournament as this will be their back to back title.

In the morning at Polytechnic field today JCC won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting for 50.2 overs the whole team bundled out for a mere 167 runs. That point of time this score looked very much small as JCC has the reputation of having so many hard hitters. Among the batsmen Nabajyoti Debnath made 62 from 66 balls with 9 fours, Pranab Das made 28 from 72 balls with 2 fours, Manisankar Murasingh made 15 while Udiyan Basu made 13 and Amaresh Das made 12 runs.

Among the Sphulinga bowlers Tushar Saha picked up 5 wickets while Chandan Roy picked up 3 wickets. In reply Sphulinga has been outplayed with some good bowling by JCC and ended day one on the score of 109 for the loss of 9 wickets. Among the batsmen Abhijit Ghosh made 27, Ranadip Paul made 16 runs while Tushar Saha and Nabajit Debnath scored 12 runs each. Among the bowlers Joydeep Bhattacharjee picked up 4 wickets while Manisankar and Viky Saha picked up 2 wickets each.
