Joint Action Committee of Civil Society strongly condemned the incident of firing at road blockade by NESO at Madhab Bari yesterday. The committee demanded Judicial Investigation of the incident under High Court; said Secretary General of Barak People’s Organization Anthony Debbarma said this at a press meet organized at Agartala Press Club today.
Anthony Debbarma, on behalf of JACCS demanded government job and compensation for the victims of the incident. He claimed that the incident happened in a pre-planned manner. He said, Chief Minister has failed provide security for life and security the people. He demanded resignation of CM. He further said, the police should have given an announcement through microphone before firing.
At the same time he appealed to maintain peace and harmony. He also appealed to the administration to leave the responsibility if it fails maintain law and order.
Meanwhile Aghore Debbarma of IPFT (Tipraha) expressed deep shock on injury of tribal youths by firing on peaceful agitators. Referring the passing of Citizenship Amendment Bill is a blow on the tribal people he said they would observe the day as Black Day in every year. They demanded resignation Home Minister accepting the responsibility of the firing. They also demanded judicial investigation of the incident and arrangement of treatment for all injured persons. Referring BJP-IPFT Government is a completely failure he demanded resignation of minister N.C. Debbarma and Mewar Kumar Jamatia and tribal MLAs to save existence of tribal people.
