In reply to 267 which have been made by visiting team Tripura in their first innings, host Saurashtra made 183 for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of day two. Till now Tripura has a lead of 84 runs and this has to extend tomorrow.
Captain Subham Ghosh played a major role till now in the match and led the team up front. At first with the bat Subham scored crucial 60 runs while with the ball picked up 3 wickets. Also with the ball Devnarayn Kumar was brilliant and picked up 2 crucial wickets. Day three will be crucial for the visiting team as they have to pick up the rest of the two wickets soon to confirm their lead and after that the batsmen need to take the responsibility to play well in the match.
Tripura started day two from their overnight score of 236/6 and added only 31 runs before bundled out for 267 runs in their first innings. Subham Ghosh scored 60 from 203 balls with 9 fours while Devnarayan Kumar scored 10 from 24 balls with 2 fours and Neelambuj Vats remained unbeaten on 15 from 49 balls with 2 fours. Among the Saurashtra bowlers Agnivesh Aayachi and Chudasama Yuvraj picked up 4 wickets each and Vivek Agath picked up 2 wickets.
In reply Tripura made an attacking start with the ball as Saurashtra lost both of their openers within 16 runs on the board. Aezaz Kothariya (6) and Kevin Jivrajani (10) went out as both the wickets have been picked up by Devnarayn Kumar. Parth Chauhan (9) and Samrat Vyas (27) also went out soon as Saurashtra lost 4 wickets for just 57 runs on the board. Niket Joshi and Vishvarajsinh Jadeja then added crucial 69 runs for the fifth wicket and looked good.
Just when this duo looked threatening, Captain Subham Ghosh picked up Niket Joshi for 25. Subham Ghosh then sent back wicket keeper Yash Parekh for just 3 while Neelambuj Vats picked up the important wicket of Jadeja who scored 59 from 80 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes. At the end of day two Saurashtra made 183 for the loss of 8 wickets. Among the bowlers Subham Ghosh picked up 3 wickets while Devnarayan Kumar and Neelambuj Vats picked up 2 wickets each.
