The State Government is taking different decisions for the welfare of people according to vision document, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb while inaugurating Gomati District Based Atma Mela and Exhibition with initiative of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare department at Rajarshi Hall of Udaipur today.
Referring the farmers are soul of India in our agrarian country he said, “the present government has introduced different projects for the welfare of the farmers. The department is always engaged to help the farmers through Krishak Bandhu Kendra. The farmers can seek out easy method of increasing agricultural yield by exchanging opinion with the technicians through the centres and becoming financially benefited. In this context Chief Minister stressed on doubling the income of farmers by 2022 and producing multiple crops in same land and marketing the crops.”
He further added, in the meantime FCI purchased 7200 MT paddy from the farmers of the state. The process of buying paddy will continue till February this year.
Chief Minister said, “The Central Government has decided for direct allocation of fund to ADC for development of indigenous people by amendment of the Constitution. Referring it a historical announcement he said, ADC will be converted into Territorial Council. Besides, Chief Minister said that State has got approval of 10 Model Schools out of 18 by spending 25 lakh for each school for development of education for students of tribal community. Referring altogether 1450 Check Dams will be constructed under JICA project with Rs.1000 crore financial assistance of Centre he said, it will be beneficial for irrigation and pure drinking water supply for the families at tribal dominated areas.
Among others Tourism and Agriculture minister Pranajit Sinha Roy said, such Mela will be organized at all districts for the welfare of farmers. Besides, MLA Biplab Kumar Ghosh, MLA Rampada Jamatia, Burbamohan Tripura and Ranjit Das were present at programme.
On the occasion 24 power tillers, agricultural equipments, 10 soil testing cards and 5000 plants of vegetable distributed among beneficiaries.
