Along with the rest of the nation the Northeastern states of Tripura have celebrated the 72 years of India’s Independence amidst tight security in and around the state on Wednesday. The main celebration took place at Agartala Assam Rifles Ground where Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has hoisted the tri-color in presence of other dignitaries including the high officials of Tripura police.
CM Biplab Kumar Deb while inspecting the parade performed by several security force wings including the Tripura state police and TSR Jawans has received salute at A R Ground. Along with NCC cadres and students, various security forces and paramilitary including state police, TSR, CRPF, BSF, and AR took part in the parade.
While addressing the programme at Agartala today Chief Minister Biplab Kuma Deb highlighted different welfare schemes launched the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “The Tripura government is mounting all out effort to make reach the schemes to the last man of a society in this state.” He also said, “Tripura has now topped in crime free state.”
However, several cultural programmes were also been held at AR ground on Wednesday to mark the celebration of 72nd years of India’s Independence. Students from various government and non-government schools had performed in the programme.
Law enforcement agencies have already fully geared up to ensure incident-free celebrations of Independence Day. Additional troops are being deployed at important locations to keep troublemakers at bay.
