Chief Minister Biplab Kumar in a recently held review meeting at the secretariat conference hall has directed the concerned officials and the director of tourism to take up an action plan of studying the feasibility of introducing world class facilities in the existing tourist spots of this state. The Chief Minister also sought action plan form the department of publicizing the Tripura tourist spots at National and international level.
A review meeting was held at the state secretariat conference hall on Monday last where the concerned officials of the state tourism development department remained present and was headed by the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. The state tourism minister Pranajit Singha Roy also remained present in the meeting.
Upgrading the state’s tourist spots and tract more tourists from the country and abroad is a top most priority for the newly formed BJP-IPFT government in Tripura.
However, during the meeting the Chief Minister moving at par with the centre’s decision has directed the officials to withdraw ban on photography inside the tourist spots monitored by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
The Chief Minister also mounted direction of upgrading the tourist lodges in this state and bring in world class facilities to comfort the tourists from state and abroad. At present Tripura has a total of 30 tourist lodges of which 14 lodges are run by the Tourist Development Corporation Limited, 6 are being run by the state government and the rest are on lease.
Meantime the Chief Minister during the review meeting has also directed the concerned officials to launch tourist guide book and mounted on scripting the history and other related information of all tourist spots, including historical temples of this state on the guide book. This perhaps has come so as to facilitate the tourists prior visiting the tourist places across the state.
