Baikhora, a Santirbazar based semi town is steadily moving to be the central baron of illegal cough syrups. The deadly intoxicants like Phensedyl, Corux and the latest of the all Dayalex is also imported and exported from the small market and suburb areas of Baikhora.
Even the situation is so pathetic that if an audit could be inducted on the trading of cough syrup in Biakhora area it would be shown that the entire populace of the state is consuming such syrups thrice a day as prescribed by physicians.
On a relative note, it is also alleged that the death of Animesh Chakraborty (40) on the night of Vijaya Dashami was also somehow connected to the murder or accident whatever it was. If it was a murder than there has to be some reasons related to smuggling or else he was intoxicated by such items, alleged sources over there.
Police during their investigation seized number emptied bottles cough syrups from the spot Animesh was found lying unconscious. Though police sources are hesitating to reveal any single tip of suspicion over the incident but the circumstantial evidences are suggesting something unparallel.
However, the emptied bottles of cough syrups in nook and corners of Baikhora is not an uneven scenario for Baikhora. Every day with setting sun an illicit business of contraband syrups lodges a take-off. The police authorities are well informed about all such indecent happenings but no obvious steps are taken yet, alleged locals.
Some of the sources also claimed that owing to a political bondage on the police no necessary actions are being taken even though Chief Minister is so much curious to offer an addiction-free Tripura.
