Altogether 41 donors donated blood including 3 women at Blood Donation camp organized on the occasion of 75 years completion of Ajad Hind Fouj at Kailashahar today.
Vice president of BJP and former MLA Subal Bhowmik inaugurated the programme at Bhagini Nibedita Girl’s School in the afternoon today. Active leaders of BJP were not present in the programme as Unakoti District Executive meeting was organized at Kumarghat today.
On the occasion Subal Bhowmik and other guests offered floral tribute to the statue of Netaji at Netaji Corner. Later Bhowmik inaugurated the programme by lighting lamp in presence of social worker Ranjan Sinha, Kaberi Sinha, lawyer Gopinath Ghosh and former principal of college Amrit Kumar Bhattacharjee.
Speaking on the occasion Bhowmik said, a large area of Tripura including Chittagang went under East Pakistan due to intervention of Jawharlal Nehru. Otherwise Chittagang Sea Port, the second largest sea port of Asia could have been under area of Tripura. He said, Tripura incurred such a loss although the country achieved independence. He appealed all to participate in movement in days to come for the interest of the state.
The organizers remembered the contribution of Netaji Subhash Basu and foundation of historical Ajad Hind Fouj by lighting lamp by lighting candle at the base of Netaji’s statue in the evening today.
