CM Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday marked the opening of the 6th North East Youth festival at Children’s park. It is for the first time that Tripura is hosting the NE Youth Festival. Huge number of delegates from the NE states and other places remained present in the inaugural program.
Sports and youth affairs minister Monoj Kanti Deb and others remained present in the inaugural ceremony. The main aim behind organizing this festival is to bring forward the culture and tradition of the NE states. 6th north east festival is a platform for Tripura to display the ideas, culture, food, tradition between the NE States and others.
Rs. 3 crore is the estimated cost of the NE Youth Festival.
The previous edition of the festival was hosted by Sikkim in 2017.
Various sports events and cultural programmes like folk music, folk dance, rock music, martial arts, adventure sports, handicrafts shows, yoga, and boat will be performed during the festival. .
However, Participants from Assam, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura joined Festival inaugurated by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. The male participants will be staying in NSRCC hostel and the females in Bhagat Singh Youth hostel.
