The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday inaugurated the newly built GST Bhawan here at Agartala Mantri Bari Road and said that the introduction of GST has brought positive changes in the North-East region of the country and particularly in Tripura. She said that Northeastern states have proven to be shining examples of GST growth.
Sitharaman emphasized that the success of the North-East region in economic growth was evident in becoming the fastest-growing economies.
She however expressed her joy over the newly built GST Bhawan at Agartala and said that the Bhawan with dedicated space will ensure convenience for the officers and traders as well.
Central Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra, chairman of CBIC Vivek Johri, Principal of DGHRD Neeta Lal Butalia, other CBIC members, chief engineer of CPWD and other high officials of the department were present in the inauguration function.
The ceremony served as a tribute to the dedication and outstanding service of the CBIC officers and staff, further promoting the spirit of excellence and efficiency in tax administration.
