In two separate incidents, two dead bodies have been found at Agartala and Kanchanpur under North Tripura district on Thursday morning. In the first incident, the dead body of Bijay Sutradhar (37) was found near Western Club area. Sources said, the family members of Bijay spotted his body near his residence in the morning. The police rushed to the spot and as per the preliminary investigation it was learnt that Bijay was suffering from TB and was wounded on his face.
In the other incident, on Thursday morning an unknown dead body along with a motorcycle was found beside the Kanchancherra river under Rabindranagar GP, PS — Kanchanpur.
Local police rushed to the spot and identified the person as Mithun Das (30), S/o Sudarshan Das of Das Para, PS — Kanchanpur. Reportedly, he went to see a patient in Kanchanpur hospital last evening and did not return. The deceased person was a mason by profession. An abrasion injury was noticed in the shoulder of the deceased and the body was in half naked condition. An unnatural death case has been registered in the Kanchanpur police station in connection with the matter. Preliminary investigation indicates that the place of occurrence has a blind curve on the road and there is bamboo palisading on the river side.
“Investigation is in progress to find out the actual cause of death. Senior Police Officers including DIGP(N/R) have visited the place of occurrence and assured the relatives of the deceased and the villagers of proper investigation”, said a police press release.
