Just after a video containing a TSR jawan thrashing a boy on scooter brutally amid the ongoing lockdown at Udaipur in Gomati district of the state of Tripura as gone viral in social media with many condemning the incident, the state government has suspended the jawan.
A tweeter handle of the Cyber Crime branch of Police has confirmed the Jawan’s suspension and stated, “It is to inform you all that TSR Jawan has been suspended pending enquiry. Tripura Police does not subscribe to the idea of use of excessive force.”
A purported video of the boy on a scooter being stopped and thrashed by the TSR jawan went viral on social media recently. The jawan was seen beating the boy with a stick and asking him to hold his ears and squat. It was reported that the boy on a scooter was returning from the market on Bengali New Year’s Day.
