A Police Sub-Inspector of Tripura police committed suicide today by hanging himself at a time when a new born arrived in his family.
The police officer identified as Jayanta Baidya on his 30s had been spotted hanged in his own room.
He was serving at Ranirbazar police station. His wife gave birth to child this morning.
Jayanta who served in different police stations of the city used to live in the office quarters of the East Agartala police station.
The dead body of the deceased had been kept in the morgue of GBP hospital.
Reportedly, Baidya hails from Baikhora under Santirbazar Sub-Division.
