The state transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday launched a cashless transaction system in all the district transport offices of the state and said that the system is expected to generate high revenue and ensure transparency in services.
Addressing a press conference to brief about the digitization of the transport offices of the state, the minister said, “Tripura government is committed to ensure transparency in administrative services and as part of that the government is moving towards full digitalization of services from all government departments.”
"The cashless transaction system is also expected to help aid the transport offices of the state to generate more revenue in near future,” he said, adding that the government has targeted Rs. 125 Crore revenue generation from the transport department of the state in the current financial year. During the FY of 2022-23 the transport department has generated Rs. 115 Crore, he told reporters.
