Tripura COVID-19 pandemic: DM warns of sternest action against violators in Unlock 2.0

Expressing concern over the increasing number COVID-19 positive cases and negligence of general public over abiding by the COVID-19 norms and guidelines, the District Magistrate (DM) of Tripura’s Gomati district today warned of sternest action against the violators.

Addressing a press conference at the DM conference hall on Tuesday the District Magistrate Dr. Tarun Kanti Debnath has issued a stern warning to the general public in the district over violation of COVID-19 norms and guidelines.

Expressing concern over the increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in the district, the DM said, “Unnecessary mass gathering public places and market areas are not be tolerated anymore and strict action shall be taken against the violators from 1 July.”

He said that despite the situation is worsening in the district people have become negligence enough in this situation and are seen to be violating government norms.

“We have also seen that the businessman are not wearing mask and general public are negligence on this,” adding to this the DM said, “We shall not tolerate this anymore as the situation is worsening in the district with the increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases.”

He said stern action shall be taken against the shop owners who are not wearing masks, drivers of vehicles who are still carrying maximum passengers on their vehicle and others general public who are not abiding by the norms and guidelines.
