Scarcity of non judicial stamp is going on at Khowai subdivision. At present the stamps are selling at high price. Sources said that suffering of people reached at ultimate stage due to crisis of non –judicial stamps worth of Rs. 5, 10 and 20 at Khowai.
It is well known that non judicial stamps of Rs. 5, 10 and 20 are essential for different Government works and banks. The stamps are required for affidavit for the declaration that the family has no government service for submission of application for government job. The unemployed youths require stamps of Rs. 5 for such declaration. The youths may alternate with stamps of Rs.10 or Rs. 20 if they fail to get stamps of Rs. 5. There are two government approved stamp sellers at Khowai. The sellers clearly said that there is no supply of such non judicial stamp at present.
In spite of that affidavit is going on at present. Sources said that stamp of Rs. 5 and Rs.10 would be available if the customer pays Rs. 20. In that case the customer should abide by some tactics. They should make advance payment for stamp. Then stamp seller will say when he will get the stamp.
Besides, allegation raised that lot of stamps have been kept by the stamp sellers. Some deed writers are helping the stamp sellers. There is no problem with stamps amounting Rs. 50 and above. Same situation is prevailing in the works of Banks. Meanwhile administrative authority of Subdivision stated that non-judicial stamps are not available at present. There is no complaint of selling non –judicial stamps at high price.
