Nor’wester damaged more than hundred houses and uprooted electric poles and trees in the morning at Kamalpur today. Sources said that four members of a family seriously injured when a mud wall house fall down on them. At present four of them are under treatment in the hospital.
Meanwhile SDM Manik Lal Baidya and MLA Asish Das visited the affected area. SDM said, the administration is working on war footing to provide assistance to the storm affected families.
According to sources a huge area of Kamalpur area of Kamalpur subdivision including Choto Surma, Chalubari, Nagbangshi and Darang affected in the devastating storm after the series of damage at Khowai, Mohanpur and Lefunga during last few days.
Local sources said that devastating nor’wester damaged more than hundred houses. After the storm local people rescued the four members of a house who were injured and trapped under debris of a mud wall house at Choto Surma village. The injured persons are Sajal Das (40), Minakshi Das (40), Subhankar Das(6) and Sashankar Das.
Meanwhile MLA Asish Das rushed to Kamlpur Hospital and visited the injured persons. Later, MLA Das and SDM Manik Lal Baidya visited the affected areas and prepared a temporary list of storm affected families.
