Tripura became champion in 40th National Convention Football tournament of SJFI which has been held at Kerala. On the fourth day of the tournament today Tripura defeated Bengaluru by 2-1 at Sai Centre.
In the first round Tripura defeated Telengana, in the quarterfinal Tripura defeated Tamil Nadu and in the semifinal Tripura defeated Mumbai by 2-1.
Tripura team was led by Suprabhat Debnath while among the others Saraju Chakraborty and Odisha’s Sambit Mahapatra represent Tripura team. On the same day Free throw in Basketball and Golf club Pating has been held at Thiruvananthapuram.
Later a quiz competition was held on FIFA Under 17 Football World Club. Tomorrow the last round in cricket and prize distribution ceremony will be held at the venue.
