Rs 5 lakh to Tripura’s martyred army jawan’s family; CM pays homage to the soldier

AGARTALA:

Day after the funeral of the martyred army jawan of the state of Tripura, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb rushed to the house of this brave soldier on Sunday to pay homage. The jawan identified as Bijoy Debbarma is martyred along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh while discharging his patrolling duty.  

The chief minister today made a visit to the family members of the martyred jawan Guliraibari in Bishramganj in the Sepahijala district of the state and handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and paid homage to the portrait of this brave soldier.

The family members of the late jawan expressed their gratitude and happiness over the chief minister's gesture.

Reportedly Debbarma died due to a sudden landslide in the snow-clad mountains at the spot where he was posted.

He was posted at the LAC (Line of Actual Control) where the tension between both the neighboring countries India and China had escalated leading to the additional deployment of troops by both the countries.

However, the Air India flight brought the body last night at MBB airport here from Guwahati via Kolkata, and on Friday midnight body reached to his house. The body was cremated with honour on Saturday.
