Villagers of Saidacherra ADC village staged a road blockade today at the alternative National Highway on demand of power, drinking water and road.
The blockade on Kumarghat – Kamalpur –Agartala Road continued from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. As a result large numbers of vehicles remain stranded on the road for long time.
On being informed SDO of DWS, DC and Manager of TSECL rushed to the spot and talked with the agitators.
During discussion SDO of DWS assured to supply drinking water through tanker as long as the pump machine of the village remains out of order.
Manager of TSECL assured to take initiative to provide power connection after availability of staff.
Besides, the local leaders assured to take initiative to construct road of the village under PMGSY scheme. At last the villagers withdrew the blockade on the basis of assurance.
