Police bust Ganja processing unit, two held

AGARTALA:

Police on Wednesday, acting on a tip off, laid an ambush at Chelikhala area under Bishalgarh sub-division and succeeded in arresting two persons and a Ganja processing tool, police said.

According to police sources, they have been informed by their sources that cannabis is being processed and packed to make delivery ready and after confirmation, the operation has been planned and executed.

As per the police estimate, about 200 Kgs of cannabis both raw and processed was seized during the operation. Meanwhile, two persons identified as Manik Rudra Paul and Biswajit Rudra Paul have been caught red-handed.  

Speaking on the issue, OC Bishalgarh police station Debasish Das said, “since last few days we have been informed by our sources that there is a Ganja processing unit deep inside the forest at Chelikhala area. After confirmation, the raid has been conducted today and not less than 200 Kgs of cannabis is recovered along with processing tools''.

Das also said, his police team has also detained two persons known as Manik Rudra Paul (35) and Biswajit Rudra Paul (20) during the raid.
