The OTPC Palatana Plant, which stands as a vital installation and a significant asset not only for the state of Tripura but also for the Government of India, has successfully conducted a security mock drill on Tuesday.
The mock drill, executed by the TSR jawans of 9th battalion at OTPC plant was a part of the 44th OSCC meeting requirements.
The mock drill was conducted with seamless support from various key entities of District administration including Police. SDRF, District fire dept. The Bomb squad, District medical team and OTPC fire and medical team also supported the mock drill.
Commandant of TSR 9th battalion Alok Bhattacharjee, SDPO of Udaipur subdivision Nirman Das, Deputy Collector of Gomati district Rakesh Choudhury, Executive Magistrate Bishnupada Roy and Assistant Commandant of TSFR 9th Battalion Pradip Roy among others were present to witness the security mock drill.
COO of OTPC Sanjay Garhwal, Head project and services Tapas Bhowmik, Head – O&M Prakash Chandra and other officials of OTPC were also present.
The strategic importance of the plant is underscored by its proximity to the international border and the current challenging security situation in Bangladesh, which collectively heighten its vulnerability.
