Telangana Governor and former Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Thursday described Operation Sindoor as a moment of pride for India, calling it a landmark event in the country’s history. He was speaking at a blood donation camp held in Agartala.
Highlighting the impact of the operation, Dev Varma said, “Under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a number of terrorist camps were destroyed. This will go down as one of the defining moments in India’s fight against terrorism. It was a powerful message to Pakistan—one that will be remembered for years to come.”
He also spoke about the government’s ongoing efforts to curb Maoist insurgency across various parts of the country.
“We’ve taken strong steps against Maoist activities, and the number of such incidents has significantly declined. Peace is the foundation for development, and proactive action is the only way to ensure it,” he stated.
Referring to the blood donation camp, the Governor stressed the importance of voluntary blood donation and praised Tripura’s youth for their participation.
“There’s a serious shortage of blood in the country. In Telangana too, we’re organising similar camps. Blood cannot be manufactured—it must be donated. The youths of Tripura have always come forward to meet this need,” he said.
