Only 66 percent households in Agartala connected with drinking water; CM Dr manic Saha instructs to expedite ongoing project work to cover more household

AGARTALA:

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday visited the Jal Board office here at Agartala and instructed the officials to expedite the ongoing project works for connecting more households with drinking water here in the capital town of Agartala.

Dr Saha was accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of Agartala Smart City Mission Dr Shailesh Kumar Yadav and other officials.

During the visit the Chief Minister was informed that only 66% households are connected with drinking water supply in Agartala. The concerned officials informed the Chief Minister that some ongoing project works will be completed by October this year, following which more 16000 people will be connected with drinking water supply and with this 85% households will be covered.

Following this, the Chief Minister Dr Saha instructed the officials to expedite the work and ensure proper supply of drinking water through the existing connections.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister during his visit on Thursday said that the state government is committed to the fast implementation of the development projects of Agartala under the Smart City Mission.
