In a significant crackdown on cattle smuggling, the Tripura Police intercepted a Bolero pickup truck bearing registration number TR 03C-1614 on Saturday night at Hawai Bari Naka Point and seized 14 cows which was supposed to be smuggle from Fatikrai to Bishalgarh.
The vigilant efforts of two organizations, 'Dhyan Foundation' played a crucial role in uncovering the smuggling operation. Acting on secret information, the organizations promptly reported the matter to senior police officers, leading to a swift response from law enforcement.
Upon receiving the tip-off, the Teliamura police seized the Bolero pickup and arrested the driver, identified as Rahman Mia. The police have filed a case against Mia under multiple sections of the Animals Act, including Section 382 F IPC Cattle Lifting, for his involvement in the illegal transportation of cows.
