With the total of 32 Muslims of the state who attended the Tablighi Jamaat’s congregation at Nizamuddin in Delhi including the family members tested COVID-19 negative and 2 men from the state tested positive at Bikaner in Rajsthan, more 16 returnees have been traced on Saturday in Tripura and immediately send to institutional quarantine for medical examination.
The task force comprising of the medical team assigned on the fight against COVID-19 have traced them from Agartala Bitarbon Mullapara.
An official of the medical team said, “They returned from the congregation on March 11 last and since then they were already in-home quarantine. But moving in line with other returnees who have been recently tested positive, we have decided to pick the 16 people from home quarantine to collect their blood sample in institutional quarantine.”
He informed that some of them of the 16 are the resident of Mumbai and they returned to the state along with others on March 11 last.
The 16 are currently kept at Siphard institutional quarantine centre. However, the Tripura government is closely monitoring the possible outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19). There is no COVID-19 positive case in Tripura so far.
Meantime, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who is personally monitoring the situation closely said this evening, “Two citizens of Tripura who have been tested COVID19 positive in Bikaner, Rajasthan are stable now and they are undergoing treatment in a local hospital of the state.”
