With the end of rainy season each and every road of Dhalai District Sadar became unfit for movement. There is no place at National highway where common people could walk.
The road fulfilled with pot holes. Specially the condition of 16 Km long road from Jawharnagar to Nailyabari became serious. Big to bigger pot holes covered every meter of the Highway. The 14 and 12 wheeler load bearing lorries are crossing the road with lot of trouble and condition of auto rickshaws and cars deteriorating day by day with the jerking of roads.
Previous government divided PWD in separate departments to maintain the road. PWD of Kumarghat was set up to look after works of North, Dhalai, and a part of Khowai district. In spite of that NH Division authority has no hurry to repair the road.
Meanwhile preparation of Saradiya Durgapuja is going on in Dhalai. But walking on road wearing new dresses will become a challenging job for the devotees. The condition of the roads became very poor at almost all parts of the district including Ambassa, Kamalpur, Gandacherra, Manu, Chawmanu. The roads of Dhalai district Sadar has not developed even after constitution of Ambassa Municipal Council in 2013-14.
The condition of drainage system is similar. All the 13 wards under the municipal council are still under developed.
Meanwhile demand raised everywhere to repair the roads of 13 wards before Durgapuja. Besides PWD and NH Division should take necessary steps to repair the pot holes of National Highway. Moreover arrangement of street light at all wards is most essential before puja.
