Empowerment of Women has always been a key focus of the BJP-IPFT coalition government in Tripura, and the Tripura Commission for Women the concerned authority to work on this has been contemplating to bring down crime rate against women and solve complaints within the given time. The National Commission for Women (NCW) however has recently praised and appreciated the role of TCW towards empowering women across the state.
The NCW member Soso Shaiza in her visit to the state of Tripura has met the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and accompanied by the TCW chairperson Barnali Goswami held a press conference Tuesday to appreciate the role of Tripura government. Shaiza said, "The NCW is working across the state to strengthen all women commissions of the country for overall welfare of women."
Addressing a press conference today Shaiza said, "The NCW is also working for self-sufficiency of the women." Meantime, the TCW chairperson Barnali Goswami in the press conference said, "The Tripura Commission is working to make the women of this state self-sufficient through promoting and constituting self-help groups."
During her visit to the state, Shaiza has also enquired about the functioning of TCW and praises on the achievements of TCW for resolving problems of the women.
