In a breathtaking incident son attempted to kill his mother by chopping with sharp cutting weapon in the broad daylight at Udaipur today. The incident took place Dakbanglow Road under R.K. Pur Police Station.
Sources said that son Debasish Dey allegedly tried to kill his mother Malina Rani Dey (65) by burning in last night. Although local people rushed to the spot hearing hue and cry of his mother and extinguished the fire.
At that time locals demanded to handover the accused son to police. But his mother Malina Rani Dey and his brother Pradip Dey did not want handover him to police in last night. Local sources said that Debasish was addicted by different types of drugs for many days.
In the morning today he started to chop his mother with sharp cutting weapon. Meanwhile local people rush to the spot hearing cry of his mother. But he attacked the local people with the weapon. After lot of effort local people recovered his injured mother and shifted to Gomati District Hospital. Later police arrived at the spot after 45 minutes and arrested the accused son along with his weapon.
Sources said that Malina Rani Dey started to stay at house of Dak Banglow Road before 7 to 8 years with her two sons as she was annoyed by the atrocity of his second son at Chanban area of Udaipur.
Sources said that seriously injured Malina Rani Dey has been referred to G.B. Hospital and she is struggling for life at present. Police sources said that police started investigation to find whether the incident occurred due to dispute among family members or he took the attempt from addiction.
Meanwhile local people demanded exemplary punishment for Debasish Dey. According to latest report Debasish broke down by interrogation of police and he admitted his crime. He will be produced in court tomorrow, said SDPO Himadri Das.
