With a focus on measuring Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and Related Aggregates and will enhance the understanding on GSDP and its role in economic planning and policy-making through capacity building of Directorate of Economics and Statistics of various States, the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation has organised a 5-day regional training workshop on State Income and Related Aggregates-Tripura here at Agartala Pragna Bhawan.
The state statistics minister Bikash Debbarma has inaugurated the workshop, which began on Monday and will continue till September 27 next. The Tripura Government has is hosting the workshop, where 13 States/UTs including Karnataka, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, A&N islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Delhi, Odisha, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh are participating.
Addressing the gathering, the minister Bikash Debbarma said that the government is working through comprehensive plans for overall development of the state. The minister launched a web portal Analytical Dashboard (www.estats.tripura.gov.in) of Tripura Data Encryption Standard.
The Minister said that through this website, all the collected statistical information and decisions of Tripura will be known very easily. The Statistics Minister congratulated the delegates participating in the five-day regional workshop.
Special Secretary of Statistics Department Abhishek Chanda, DG N K Santoshi, Director Pooja Rani, Director of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Statistics Department Gaurang Mishra and others were present in the inauguration session of the workshop.
