Members of Joint Movement Committee (JMC) called a 12 hour strike at Kanchanpur sub-division tomorrow protesting against Government’s initiatives to rehabilitate bru refugees in the sub-division.
JMC members said this in a press meet at Kanchanpur today.
Notably, JMC consists of Nagarik Surakhsha Manch and Mizo Convention of Tripura. Both the organizations are vehemently opposing rehabilitation of large number of Bru refugees in Kanchanpur sub-division. JMC demanded that rehabilitation should be done uniformly and be distributed across the State.
