With the increase of theft question raised about failure of police administration to maintain security of Khowai subdivision. The incident of last night pointed out that work culture or administration has not changed in spite of change in political power of the state.
An adventurous incident of theft took place at two jewelry shops in last night from the heart of the town Subhash Park within stone throwing distance from Police Outpost, market and bank. The distance of one shop is 20 meter and another is 70 meter from the police outpost. The gang of thieves had stolen almost all gold jewelry including iron safe of both the shops without any hindrance. The distance of Indo – Bangla Border is about half kilometer from the spot of theft and there is no fencing or vigilance at the border.
Similar situation is prevailing at Khowai town as there in no night patrolling in the town. The allegations of vacant border area without duty after evening and absence of police patrolling in the town are still prevailing which were also raised during the period of previous government.
Meanwhile the people raised demand police administration to ensure security of the town. At the same time the gang of thieves started to looting temples. In the meantime some incidents of stealing from temple took place. Specially the thieves targeted the pranami boxes of temples.
