Acting on secret information SI Ramkrishna Das and SI Biswajit Debbarma of Panisagar Police Station recovered 115 cartoons of illicit foreign liquor from a Bolero car (TR02G 1814) from the adjacent area of Chamtila Petrol Pump under Panisagar Police Station today.
Police sources said that 1380 bottles of illicit liquor found inside the cartoon worth of about Rs 2.5 lakh. On being informed SDPO of Panisagar Rajib Sutradhar rushed to the spot. Later the car was brought to Panisagar Police Station.
Meanwhile the driver of the car absconded after getting information of raid by police. Police sources said that the illicit liquor was made in Assam and the car was going to Kumarghat. Meanwhile police started investigation according to 69 (T) and 102 CRPC.
