A family dispute has claimed the life of the husband and left the wife seriously injured. The incident took place at Churaibari Hapaitilla village under Kadamtala police station on Tuesday dawn hours after the husband identified as 34 years old Gaur Prasad Sharma has hit on the head of his wife – 29 years old Pompi Sharma with an iron rod and left her serious injured.
Soon after hitting his wife, Sharma has rushed to his grocery shop to hang himself to death. Meanwhile, the critically injured wife is rushed to the nearby Kadamtala Hospital from where the concerned doctors have shifted her to Silchar hospital for further treatment.
The incident has triggered serious resentment among the locals today morning. The injured wife is currently battling for her life.
