In a major operation against the drug menace, the Bishramganj police on Thursday morning seized a huge amount of dry cannabis weighing around 215 kgs from a 12-wheeler truck parked in front of the police station.
The incident took place after the police searched the vehicle bearing number PB13U-9843 and seized the cannabis. Police also apprehended the truck driver identified as Khushnur Alam.
A case has been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, as informed by the Bishramganj Police Station OC Vidya Debbarma.
