The people of Kailashahar and Kacharghat area were angry that the fair was not allowed on the occasion of the foundation day of the old Kalibari of Kailasahar, a traditional religious place of Tripura.
The foundation day of this 262-year-old Kalibari is 20th Poush i.e. 5th January. Today, Harinam Sankirtan and small traders bring posara around this fair. Even though this fair is small in size, the sub-divisional administration does not allow it. According to the common man, if there can be all kinds of political events, book fairs, art fairs, khadi fairs, tring festivals in Agartala, then why not this fair?
Covid only in Kailasahar? There is no Covid anywhere else in the state? There is anger in the administrative circles as to why the sub-divisional ruler Shanti Ranjan Chakma did not give permission.
According to the health department, there is only one Covid patient in Kailasahar District Covid Care Center, he is from Fatikarai.
The general public wants to know on what basis the sub-division or district administration has been reluctant to allow this fair if there is no patient in home isolation.
However, there is no reaction from the political leaders of Kailashahar about this.
