To facilitate local-level development and effective governance, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced on Tuesday that the current state government has decided to establish 110 Chief Minister Model Villages in the state.
The Chief Minister, who also oversees the Panchayat Department, provided this information in response to a question raised by MLA Brishketu Debbarma during the question and answer session of the 13th Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
Dr. Saha said that in the fiscal year 2021-22, a special project named Chief Minister's Model Village was launched, selecting one village from each of the 55 assembly constituencies in the state. The duration of this project extends until the 2023-24 financial year.
"Several development projects have already been completed under this initiative with many still in progress. The actual status of villages will be verified upon the completion of the undertaken works assessing whether the main objectives of the model village plan have been achieved," said Dr. Saha.
He emphasized the importance given to the implementation of developmental work in Chief Minister Model Villages, including initiatives for 100 percent vaccination of children, establishment and maintenance of Anganwadi centers and ensuring 100 percent enrollment of children in schools and Anganwadi centers.
“The government is also working on providing purified drinking water, distributing Ayushman Bharat cards, and conducting programs like Proti Ghore Sushasan and Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, offering administrative facilities such as the issuance of ST certificates, SC certificates, and marriage certificates to citizens”, he said.
